Alto, alongside the Government of Canada, is committed to reconciliation, and is making it a key priority. This commitment is grounded in the principles of engaging early and meaningfully, through constructive dialogue and nation-to-nation relationships with Indigenous peoples.







We are dedicated to engagement with Indigenous Peoples, in accordance with the Principles of the United Nations Declaration on the Rights of Indigenous Peoples and Truth and Reconciliation Commission’s Calls to Action.

Our goals include:

Indigenous Capacity Funding Program


To support and encourage Indigenous Peoples with participating in discussions about the Alto project development in the Toronto-Québec City corridor, Transport Canada is making grant funding available through the Indigenous Capacity Funding Program.

What We Heard and What We Are Doing Report


Indigenous communities were invited to all 3 bidding teams, to share insights and recommendations for their participation in the Project. More than 90% of potentially impacted Indigenous communities were represented.
